When the temperature is high, the viscosity of the syrup is lower, and the filtration speed is increased. Therefore, the syrup with a high concentration (>45Brix) is usually filtered above 50°C. The concentration of insoluble particles and the total number of colonies are important indicators for control in the inspection of syrup products, and filtration plays a vital role here. Attention should be paid to the tracking of filtering effects. For high-quality premium sugar, simple mechanical filtration may be enough; but for granulated sugar below grade 1, more precise filtration is required.
